Tell us a little about what you do
I am a Celebrant – I write and perform ceremonies for special occasions, like weddings, renewal of vows, elopements, baby naming ceremonies, and any other life event or moment that people want to honour and celebrate. It’s a really wonderful job and way to spend each day – focusing on people, their stories and relationships.
Why Ibiza?
I was assigned here for a summer in 2009 by the company I was working for at the time and I fell in love with the island, when I left I knew that one day I would be living here. It took a few years to make it happen but now I’m very settled here and I couldn’t be happier. It’s such a diverse, beautiful island and there are so many things I love about it, but for me, it simply feels like home and where I’m meant to be.
Who’s your pal?
This is Buffy, my very loving/needy French Bulldog. She’s my little sidekick!
What is the best part of your day?
Spending time with my boyfriend, starting and ending every day with him.
What was your first Ibiza job?
I was a Kid’s Rep for TUI, looking after children in a hotel’s kids club. It was hard work but a lot of fun!
If social media didn’t exist, how would your life be different?
Oh wow… to be honest, I imagine I’d have a lot more free time! Social media has helped me so much with my work and success, I use it a lot for marketing, networking and learning, as well as scrolling aimlessly on Instagram. There are a lot of negative factors to social media which affect human interaction and it would be a wonderful thing for us to scale back our use of it and be more present with people in real life, but there are also so many positives to it – it’s given a voice to people and causes who/which may not have been given a platform or gained traction without it, so I think we just need to use it wisely and more thoughtfully. I’m working on my scrolling addiction!
Do you believe in magic? When have you felt it?
I’m quite practical, but also a romantic. Do I believe in magic it’s most literal sense? I don’t know. But feelings and experiences can feel very magical. For me, I get a little rush whenever I feel very grateful, and those moments feel like magic, it could be while I’m looking at a beautiful view and appreciating where I am, or just laying on the sofa in the evening with my boyfriend and my dog.
